Talkfirst — speak English, Polish, Lithuanian or Czech out loud

Talkfirst is speaking practice with an AI partner for adults learning English, Polish, Lithuanian or Czech. You don't need grammar to start: you talk from day one and learn through a lot of practice — voice conversations, pronunciation with instant feedback and spaced-repetition flashcards. Explanations and translations are in English, Russian or Ukrainian. It works as a web app, inside the Telegram bot @any_lang_learn_bot and as an MCP connector, so you can practise right in a chat with an AI assistant. One account works everywhere.

What the connector does

Try these prompts

Connect it

Claude — Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, URL https://mcp.talkfirst.io/mcp. Sign in with an email code or Telegram when asked.

ChatGPT — turn on developer mode (Settings → Apps → Advanced settings), then create an app with the same URL and OAuth sign-in. Whether developer mode is available depends on your ChatGPT plan and region.

Le Chat (Mistral) — Connectors → + Add Connector → Custom MCP Connector, any name and the same URL, then sign in. Le Chat does not show the practice windows yet: flashcards, vocabulary, the plan and quizzes work as text, and voice practice continues in the Talkfirst app.

The same account also works at https://app.talkfirst.io/app in a browser.

Limitations

Mock exams

Lithuanian A2 (speaking and writing), the Lithuanian Constitution basics test, and Polish B1 speaking — timed, in the format of the real exams, with a breakdown afterwards.

Plans

Voice minutes are one weekly budget for speech recognition (when you speak) and listening (voiced answers and audio).

Free — 35 voice minutes a week, 210 new reference audio clips a week, the app's ready-made conversation scenes, one full mock exam of each kind every 7 days. Voice and audio limits renew on Monday; the exam limit counts 7 days from your last full attempt.

Pro — 140 voice minutes a week, unlimited reference audio, your own conversation topics, all scenes and all exam modes, including work on your mistakes. 500 Telegram Stars for 30 days, renews automatically; managed inside the Telegram bot.
